Joseph Ferguson

Joe is thrilled to finally be joining our team at Junction Road Physiotherapy, following completion of his Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree with the Australian Catholic University.

Joe is no stranger to our clinic.  He is a local boy who has played over 10 years for Brothers Rugby Club at a junior and senior level. Unfortunately Joe’s love for rugby was not reciprocated, as he found himself constantly in our clinic rehabilitating his many injuries.  It was working together with our physiotherapists where Joe first realised his passion for managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries.

Throughout his studies Joe continued his involvement with Brothers Rugby Union and Junction Road Physiotherapy, gaining valuable experience as a level 1 sports trainer providing strapping and on field injury management.  Now, Joe is excited by the opportunity to work alongside the Virginia Football Club senior squad and gain experience in a new area of sports physiotherapy.

Pain can be debilitating and through his own experiences Joe understands how pain can interfere in your social and work life.  Joe’s therapy is directed at making sure pain does not control your life, so that you can return to doing the things you love most. He does this through implementing a holistic approach to treatment.

Joe believes in the benefits of hands-on treatment for providing relief to his patients when used in conjunction with coaching of effective self-management, so his patients are empowered to be more independent in their treatment.

Outside of our clinic Joe enjoys keeping active at the gym and enjoys watching rugby league, rugby union and football.
