Kate King

Kate has been a part of the Junction Road Physiotherapy team for 10 years. Kate graduated from the University of Queensland in 2004 with a Physiotherapy degree with First Class Honours. Her Honours research has since been published in the Australian Journal of Physiotherapy (click here for article).

Since graduating, Kate has completed further studies in women’s health and pelvic floor dysfunction. This includes work with pregnancy, incontinence and prolapse assessment and treatment as well as fitting pessaries.

Kate has done further studies in sports physiotherapy, dry needling and is also a qualified Clinical Pilates Instructor.

Over the years Kate has had experience working in the fields of women’s health, musculoskeletal and sports injuries in private practice as well as being responsible for the post-surgery orthopaedic rehabilitation for several prominent orthopaedic surgeons at the Brisbane Private Hospital.

Kate joined the team at Junction Road Physiotherapy at the beginning of 2008 and has expertly established our first-class Exercise facility in conjunction with her work as a physiotherapist.

As an ex-dancer and with her clinical pilates background, Kate has a wealth of knowledge in the treatment and rehabilitation of dance related injuries and problems associated with hypermobile joints.

Outside of work, Kate is kept busy with her three young children.
