Sandra Bolger

Sandra’s love of paediatric physiotherapy started from her initial work at the Mater Children’s hospital where she saw a varied acute and rehabilitation inpatient and outpatient caseload. She later gained specific experience with children with neurological disorders at the Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland and completed a variety of courses.

She moved to Sydney for nine years and during this time worked with children and adults in both the clinic setting and hydrotherapy. This included the Cerebral Palsy Alliance of New South Wales. Sandra then gained employment at a Rehabilitation hospital which gave her motivation to start her own in-home rehabilitation business for elderly clients to help them gain strength and balance after a hospital admission.

Sandra graduated in 2004 from the University of Queensland with Class 1 Honours. Her honours research paper entitled “Standing balance: A comparison between idiopathic and whiplash-induced neck pain” was published in the journal Manual Therapy.

Sandra has also completed courses to gain skills and knowledge in women’s health, Clinical Pilates and pelvic floor physiotherapy and worked as a Pilates instructor before moving back to Brisbane in 2015. After having two young children of her own, Sandra is keen to return to seeing paediatric clients to put into practice her wealth of knowledge and skills of childhood development and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

When Sandra is not reading articles on health, she loves taking her daughter swimming, practicing mindfulness, reading books to her son and her favourite thing of all – Caravan holidays at the beach!
