After beginning their own family, Junction Road Physiotherapy owners – Ian and Wendy Astbury created Child’s Play Physiotherapy, a private practice specifically catering for the physical needs of the developing child.
Our highly trained paediatric physiotherapists assist in the early detection of health problems and use a wide variety of methods to treat your little one. Our physiotherapists are experienced in the assessment, treatment, and management of infants and children with a variety of congenital, developmental, neuromuscular and skeletal disorders or diseases. Our management of your child’s specific requirements focuses on improving gross and fine motor skills, balance and coordination, strength and endurance as well as sensory processing and integration. We work closely with speech pathologists, occupational therapists, orthotists, podiatrists, developmental optometrists and paediatricians to ensure that your child reaches their full physical potential.

Early intervention is the most effective way to address any concerns regarding your child’s development or physical abilities and to ensure the most positive outcomes. If you are unsure what assistance your child needs, a physiotherapy assessment will assist you in planning future intervention.
A referral is not necessary to access Child’s Play Physiotherapy. All assessments and treatments can be claimed through your private health fund (if you have extras cover). Please note however that Wendy and Belinda are not a ‘preferred provider’ for BUPA unlike our other musculoskeletal physiotherapists.
Your child may be eligible for Medicare rebates if the treatment relates to a chronic or complex condition – we recommend talking to your GP about providing a referral for physiotherapy using the Enhanced Primary Care Scheme or contact us for more information.
We are able to provide services to NDIS clients who are self managed or plan managed, however we are not a registered provider and cannot treat clients who are agency managed.
Please note: 24 hour cancellation fee applies if appointment can’t be filled.
