At Junction Road Physiotherapy, our highly skilled physiotherapist, Kate King, has done extensive training in the management of specific women’s health conditions. This includes physiotherapy assessment and treatment of:
Women’s health appointments are held in our private consultation rooms with your female physiotherapist. During the consultation, your physiotherapist will complete a questionnaire with you and may ask various questions about your bladder, bowel and sexual health history. This is undertaken with sensitivity and within your personal comfort levels.
With your consent, a physical examination will often need to be completed during your consultation. Your physiotherapist will explain to you what will be necessary to complete the best assessment for your condition and this may include an internal vaginal examination. This may be done to assess the nature of your problems in the case of pain, incontinence, prolapse or pelvic floor strength, but always with your informed consent.
After your assessment, your physiotherapist will be able to best advise you on the appropriate treatment and exercises that will need to be done to address your concerns.
